Australian War Memorial Website - These records contain details of approximately 23,000 names of AMF prisoners of war and missing personnel from operations in the Far East and South West Pacific Islands, as known at 30 June 1944.

Australian World War Two Nominal Roll - The World War Two Nominal Roll was created to honour and commemorate the men and women who served in Australia's defence forces and the Merchant Navy during this conflict. This site contains information from the service records of some one million individuals who served during World War Two.

The National Archives – UK - A brief and incomplete source of reference for those seeking information on the British POWs of the Japanese. It contains much more on European theatre POWs.

USS BLOCK ISLAND - This website tells the story of one of the two American aircraft carriers that took the released Taiwan POWs to Manila after the war.

USS SANTEE - Information on the second American aircraft carrier that rescued the POWs from Taiwan in September 1945.

Bataan Project - 192nd Tank Btn POW - This site is dedicated to the men of Company B, 192nd Tank Battalion, many of whom spent time as POWs on Taiwan.

Thai-Burma Railway Centre - While not directly related to the Taiwan POWs' story, many POWs who worked on the infamous Death Railway were later moved to Japan from Singapore via Taiwan, and some remained here as prisoners of war. We are happy to link to the Thai-Burma Railway Centre as it is the best site on the internet that deals with the Death Railway.

AMERICAN EX-POW ASSOC. - The American Ex-Prisoners of War organization is a national organization for American citizens who were captured by the enemy from any theater in any war, all former civilian internees and the families of such persons.

The Second World War Experience Centre - "Saving Personal Experiences of Wartime" - by collecting, documenting, preserving and exhibiting information of the men and women who participated in the Second World War.
